About this campaign

Max has been a beloved member of our family for approximately 10 years and was a rescue. He is 13 years old now and is in need of having one of his eyes removed. He has a cataract in the eye with pressure behind it. He continually scratches his eye with his paw and the eye is painful and will not let us treat the eye with medication.

Max has always been the "cool" dog in the family. He is very much a laid-back kind of dog. He will play with the other dogs if they initiate it first and doesn't bark (unless necessary). Loves to sleep with his owner and provides emotional support. Max will take any opportunity to eat human food so don't leave any out or he will get it when your head is turned.

Max is in need of having one of his eyes removed. This is a very expensive procedure and his owner is disabled and on a fixed income. The owner is also in the process of utilizing other low-income resources to help supplement the cost of the operation.

Since we believe he was a puppy mill dog. With the inbreeding, he has a lot of allergies. These allergies affect his skin and especially his ears (chronic ear infections), and dry eye. Max has gotten to the point where he will not allow his owners to put medication in his ears or eyes. Max's vet is Dr. Rosie at Evergreen Veterinary Hospital3220 14th Ave NW, Olympia, WA

Max is special because he is not only a beloved member of the family but he is also an emotional support dog for his owner that is disabled. When he wants his back scratched he gently paws at your arms or legs. He does a "pony hop" when he is excited in seeing you. He enjoys laying in the sun and doesn't like getting his paws wet.
