Max is a 9-year-old Rottweiler in Spokane, WA, who needs $2,000 for Double Lung Lobectomy (surgery), and Follow-Up Chemotherapy.

My mom adopted Max for me as a gift when I was 17. I had been living in England, where I had been placed into foster care due to a domestic violence situation with my father. Max helped me overcome my diagnosis of PTSD. Throughout the years, he has stayed with me and is my best friend in the entire world. I was recently diagnosed with a serious, lifelong autoimmune illness and he helps me so much.

Max has his very own spot on the bed next to me, with his own pillow and everything. His favorite place to be though is in my truck with me, where his dog bed is set up in the back seat. He always has to pick a toy to take with him each time we go. I take him to the coffee shop, where they know him by name and give him a puppa-ccino (whipped cream in a cup). We now live on a farm, which he loves.

Max's best friend is his sister, Lilly. He's such a bright, goofy boy who absolutely loves his stuffie toys. He picks one out to bring to bed with him each night. He has a "dinner dance" that he does for each meal, and he loves opening any kind of wrapped package. When we're in public, he walks right next to my wheelchair and is very helpful. He is the kindest soul I know and is my biggest comfort

We recently found a large mass in Max's right lung on Xray. We got a CT scan which confirmed two small additional mets in the same lung. We had a surgical/oncological consult at BARC vet in Edmonds, WA. He will need a double lung lobectomy, where they remove both affected lobes of his lung. His surgery is scheduled for July 11th. He has no chance of survival without it. And he will need chemo.

I was recently diagnosed with two serious autoimmune conditions. I have been fighting these illnesses for eight years, and am swamped in medical bills. My husband and I separated last summer, and I just lost my kitty last August to cancer. Max's surgery starts at $5,600.
