Max is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever in Sunrise Beach, MO, who needs $1,000 for Gastrointestinal Surgery with Sepsis Infection.

In April of 2025 my daughter's friends found a litter of 9 labs that had been left in a ditch in the middle of the night. My daughter and others all rescued one of the litter within minutes. Max was the last one left and she talked me into taking him at midnight that night. Upon observations they only seemed to be about 3-4 weeks old. I raised Max...helped him walk, talk and eat. LOL

He had a full intestinal obstruction that made him very sick. Not sure how long he had it, but had to rush him the vet when he started throwing up poop. He needed surgery and they found him to be Very infected.

Max was raised by me and He is trained and funny and ornery and now my best friend. He has 2 doggy cousins which one is his brother. And one grumpy cat cousin who he loves to torment. He lays on me and takes care of me when I am sick and he actually thinks he half human! lol

I live paycheck to paycheck paying bills, so there is never any left for emergencies. When he got sick, my daughter rushed to help us. I had to make a hard decision about what to do. She took him to the vet immediately and they worked with us and we owe them for saving him
