Maxi is a 12-year-old Dachshund in College Park, MD, who needs $2,000 for urgent medical care.

Poor Maxi was scared to death! This senior dog, who is nearly blind, got dumped at an animal shelter with another Dachshund named Coco.

When Little Paws Dachshund Rescue heard about this bonded pair in need, they said: Let's get them out right away and keep the two together! They found a wonderful foster home for Maxi and Coco but soon discovered the dogs were filthy and needed medical care immediately.

The rescue is taking the dogs to Paws and Claws Animal Clinic. "We believe this senior (Maxi) has cataracts and is at least partially blind. He will need lab work, dental care and has to be neutered," Julie J. with the rescue tells Waggle.

While the rescue works to fix them up, they will stay in their foster home as an inseparable pair. "They are happy to have a safe place to rest and snuggle," Julie says.
