Maya is a 6-year-old Mixed Cat in Boston, MA, who needs $2,000 for Dental Cleanings.

I rescued Maya from a shelter down south as an adult in September, where she was taken from a kill shelter. We dont know anything about her other than that she is 3-6 years old and her only records are from shelters, where it seems she spent most of her life.

She is the sweetest girl despite where she came from! She's understandably shy but when she gets to know you, she wont get out of your lap. Once shes there she's likely either trying to clean you or suckling on your fingers.

Maya has played fetch since I got her! I know dont know where she learned it but she is a total natural. She also is getting better at jumping, which she couldnt do when I first took her home.

The shelter ensured health checks before adoption, but when I took Maya to her first vet visit, she had to have all her teeth extracted, other than the front few. She Is now on wet food for life and will need routine dental cleanings which she will have to undergo anesthesia for. I couldnt get insurance coverage because it was urgent, and the total cost was over $3k, with cleanings at 2k per year

Recently she was diagnosed with asthma as well, which will need ongoing care on top of her dental cleanings. Since insurance will not cover pre-existing conditions or illnesses within the waiting period, I am hoping to raise some money to cover her dental and asthma costs.
