Maya is a 5-year-old American Pitbull in Carpentersville, who needs $1,600 for Pyometra.

I got my dog as a gift, we have been together since she was about 5 months old. She lives with my mother at the moment. No other pets at the moment. I went with Maya because its always been one of my favorite names it was maya or mia. The name Maya stuck she has too many nicknames which have no relation to her actual name but yeye is her favorite.

Very friendly with all, cuddly, patient. Energetic loves walks as well as runs. She loves the beach as you can see in the picture attached, she doesn’t like to swim past where water will touch her face but will go if family is farther for “help” of course. She loves her toys, too much she will carry them around everywhere. Her favorite one is a cow at the moment.

Hates windshield wipers which is so funny. Also hates the vacuum its an immediate no for us. Will force your hand to rub her back. She loves watching movies with us all its crazy she really does stare at the screen. Maya also will stare at one of us in the home till someone takes her outside. Literally, will wake up with her staring at you.

This was an emergency visit to the animal hospital last night because I had noticed she has been acting a little less energetic and down. I noticed that she had a weird red/brown color discharge leaking alot and she has had trouble getting on beds. She was diagnosed with an infected uterus & unfortunately cant afford the whole procedure. I paid $400 out of pocket for antibiotics & ultrasound.

Unfortunately, it was a sudden matter and I could only afford $400 for some medication till I am able to come up with some way for her surgery. My pet means a lot to me and my family, we want Maya to be healthy and well again. Perhaps even better than she was before.
