Maya is a 7-year-old Husky in Glendale, AZ, who needs $2,000 for Thyroidectomy .

I adopted Maya, along with her brother Loki, when they were 8 weeks old. Maya was the only puppy to run up to the fence . She put her little paws on the fence and wagged her tail. She chose me! She is 7 years old now and she has been with me through multiple states, a divorce, and everything in between.

Maya loves to sleep in strange positions! Check out the photos! She loves the cold, but hates snow and rain. She loves to pick on Loki. She loves to drag your hand with her paw to get pets. She loves carrots! She has such a sassy attitude and always has to know what’s in it for her before she listens! But we love her anyway. She also loves to hide silverware in her kennel!

With Covid, I can’t find an extra job, though I have been looking. I’m a teacher and I am salaried. I have some money in savings, but not enough right now to have her surgery. We would have to wait months to save up and by then, we don’t know if the tumor would spread.

Maya was having some Slight incontinence beginning in late 2017. We took her to the vet and they diagnosed it as spay incontinence, which is normal for a husky her size and age. However, the incontinence persisted and is now completely incontinent. Her hunger and thirst also became concerning, She began losing weight . A blood test and exam revealed a tumor on her thyroid.

She is such a talker! She doesn’t howl, but rather yells. She also loves to kill all of her toys! There is not a squeaker in the world that she can’t take care of. She thinks she is a cat, and loves to hide places and sleep on little surfaces. She loves to sit on Loki when he won’t play with her. She also sneaks into the pool area and we can’t figure out how!
