Maya is a 4-year-old Pitbull in Harbor city, CA, who needs $1,530 for Cancer/Thyroid.

I rescued Maya as a put when her previous owner/breeder threw her in a dumpster after her dad bite her eye out. After her rescue she became part of my family instantly. As many would put it, we rescued her but truthfully she rescued us. She made a non believer in pitbulls a lover for the breed and showed me how to trust in the breed.

Maya is a beautiful dog inside and out. She was raised around small dogs so she thinks she’s a lap dog and not a 80lb Pitbull. She shows love to everyone she meets (humans or animals). She loves to play with balloons and loves to munch on veggies with ranch. Maya or Miss Maya as we call her loves to be groomed and bathe in the California sun.

Maya thinks she’s a rabbit. When happy she hops around the yard and rolls around prancing on her fur brother and sisters. She’s the light of the party and always makes everyone laugh and smile. She walks up to us when we sit on the floor and literally baby sits us. She slowly backs up to whomever is sitting or laying on the floor and sits on them.

Maya was healthy until a few weeks ago when I noticed her loosing weight rapidly. I’ve taken her to the vet in which they performed blood work in which it came out super high in calcium. Vet stated that there are two probable causes for this to happen, 1. Her thyroid gave out and 2. She has cancer. He then ran another test for malignant cancer but we will not receive the results for another week

My husband and I exhausted our savings for her medical need. We live paycheck to paycheck and are having extreme financial issues not only in taking care of her medical necessities but caring for our 4 children.
