I'm Mary Helen, advocating for Maya, a sweet 4yo German Shepherd. Her father, Francisco, is my friend & house painter. Since he doesn't speak English very well, I'm coordinating her care bc I'm bilingual. Maya suffered a 3-part leg fracture from a hit-&-run. We need affordable surgery over amputation or euthanasia. I've attached Maya's x-rays. The vet said it was broken in 3 places. They said surgery would be $7000.. The initial visit was $1,200. He still owes for the 1st visit. Even though the person who his Maya lives in the neighborhood, they're denying it. Pet Specialists of Austin.

Maya has always been a very healthy girl. Francisco is originally from Mexico & used to train dogs as a federal police officer before coming to the US decades ago. So, not only is she a healthy girl, she's a super well behaved girl. They go everywhere togther and were about to retire in Mexico in his hometown when the hit & run occurred..

Francisco works in construction. Basically, he's general contractor. He does amazing work. He had just enough $$ to leave to retire when this happened. The vet gave him 3 options. We can't bear the "E" word & ampution would be awful ! Help. us save Maya's hind leg. Thank you
