Mayla was a pup born on a farm. I found her in an ad. We were hoping to find a pup that would keep our boy Monty, who was also a puppy company. She instantly took to us and Monty and we were never so happy to take her home. She instantly became part of the family and when my mother passed we brought her dog into our family and Mayla instantly became her idol.

A couple months ago she began drinking a lot of water. Losing her hair and she wasn’t there same happy dog she has been. We took her to Creekside in Norton,Ohio. She was on antibiotics for a urinary infection but they felt she probably was suffering from Cushing disease. Since then we have all been sleeping in the living room so she can drink water and we can take her out every 2 hours

Mayla always had to fight for what she got on the farm so it took us a little time to teach her she didn’t have to anymore. She is a gentle soul that gets so happy when I get home from work. She love to rub her head against you when she’s being affectionate. She loved to get in her toy box. Usually looking for moms help to dump it out

Last year I came close to dying when I contracted RSV. I was hospitalized and out of work for a month. While insurance paid a lot it didnt cover being without pay. My heat aches because I want her final years to be happy. She has been like a child to us
