About this campaign

Mayor Pete is an approximately 8-year-old formerly feral cat who showed up on our porch and quickly became family. He now lives at home with my mom, who rescued, fed, and loved him into the affectionate, cuddly companion he is today.

Mayor Pete has been treated for severe pancreatitis and may have a chronic condition, but more tests are needed to determine if something more serious is going on. After multiple vet visits to our local doctor and a multiple-day hospitalization visit there, he is currently admitted overnight at ACCESS Pasadena for advanced care and further diagnostics to determine the underlying cause.

Once feral and aggressive, Mayor Pete transformed into an incredibly loving, loyal cat. He follows my mom from room to room, curls up beside her on the couch and every night in bed, and provides constant comfort and companionship. Their bond is deep, and he is truly her heart. Mayor Pete is part of the family.

My mom is a 68-year-old single retiree living on limited income. She has already spent $4,000 on credit cards and cannot afford the $6–8K diagnostics needed (not including any follow-up treatments). She feels guilty that she can't afford everything he may need.
