About this campaign

Mele, Hawai'ian for merry, came into our life at eight weeks old. She is always happy. We brought her into our family three months after our beloved dog of 14 years passed. She is always smiling and loves to cuddle up next to everyone she meets for a hug or long pets.

One of Mele's favorite pastime is to eagerly greet our mail carrier each day and often jumps inside. She will do the same for all UPS drivers. Mele also loves taking long walks and swimming at the beach. In the evening, she enjoys resting next to us. She's very in tune with us because she is so observant & communicates by getting our attention and leading us to her desired object.

Mele's favorite toy is a frisbee. She is can't wait for us to throw it and give it chase. She is always happy, undemanding. She enjoys doing whatever we are engaged in; as long as she is by our side.

Mele has been diagnosed with lymphoma in her neck area & behind her knee joints, along with an enlarged spleen. We are awaiting tests to determine the type of lymphoma. She just completed her first round of chemo and must undergo chemo every 3 wks. to manage the cancer for a longer quality of life and possible remission.

I I am fully employed but have limited resources. I paid for the tests, lab work, x-rays, ultrasound and first round of chemo using my savings, but I cannot afford to pay for the next several rounds which are almost $550 ea. The vet will determine when to stop.
