Mia came into our lives at just 6 weeks old. She was a gift for Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect day because we fell in love with her the moment we saw her. Mia got her name from her big brother Eli, and it just suited her the moment we heard him say it. Mia is loving, fun, and exciting girl who loves to play outside, loves the snow, and loves to eat anything on your plate.

Mia loves attention and always wants to sleep in bed with mom, dad, and big brother. She always spins around when you walk in the door and goes straight for her toy box to grab one of her favorite toys to play catch or tug of war. Even though Mia loves to play, she loves to hog her toys too and looks up at you when you don’t try to grab them her.

Mia’s favorite day is her birthday. Every year we get her doggie cupcakes and sing Happy Birthday to her. She spins around while we sing and jumps up and down for her treat. We love seeing her so happy on this day. Mia knows that her birthday is all about her and we celebrate with decorations, bday hats and treats galore. Mia is a winter baby so hopefully there is snow outside to play afterwards.

Mia was diagnosed with lymphoma. She has cancer everywhere and the vet says it is treatable. She will be needing chemo therapy once a month via injection for at least 5-6 treatments along with 3-4 medications to take on a daily basis. The treatments are to reduce the lymphnodes and get Mia in remission.

This diagnosis was an unexpected event and we never would have thought our 6 yr old would need this. We are on a salary based income and usually pay our bills with very little left over. Whatever we have will go towards treatment but we know we will still be short.
