About this campaign
I rescued Mickey from the Animal Resq clinic in Raytown Mo. After seeing a post about him on Pet Finder I knew I had to meet him. Mickey was only 4 months old when he was surrendered to the shelter by dog breeders. Since Mickey suffers from Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (dry eye syndrome) he needs daily medication. Due to this chronic condition, the breeders felt they could sell him for top dollar.
Since joining my family in March 2023, Mickey has brought so much joy. As the youngest 4 legged member of the family, he's quickly become everyone's favorite. He enjoys sleep overs with the other family dogs and begging for table scraps at Sunday Dinners
As my emotional support pet, I take Mickey with me anywhere I can. He loves to go for walks in the park, play at the dog park, and visit family members. When he's not playing fetch, wrestling with his toys, or doing laps around the coffee table during his evening zoomies, He loves the cuddle. He'll crawl in anyones lap and curl up for a quick nap and scritches.
Mickey began limping in January and after emergency x-rays were done at Banfield Hospital, he was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis of the head of the femur. The vet recommended physical therapy. After the first session at Animal Rehabilitation Center in Grandview Mo, Dr Goodman concluded that a FHO procedure is necessary. The total for surgery, labs and after treatment is estimated at $2000-4000.
I'm 26 years old living alone and currently working a full time and part time job. I work many hours to cover my current expenses and pay off previous student loan debt and credit card debt. After my car was stolen twice last summer I exhausted my savings.
