About this campaign
I found Midnight in the back alleyway of my building huddled by the cold concrete wall two days ago. I fed her and left. When I returned she ate but hadnt moved so I checked to see if anything was wrong. Her back leg below the knee was uncut but hanging, completely useless, she couldnt walk let alone survive as an outdoor cat.
I tried reaching out to several animal organizations but none were willing to help. They all suggested I take her to Animal Care Control which I know is very quick to euthanize injured pets and I just couldn't take that chance. I took her to the ER where she was diagnosed with a fracture on her Tibia and fibula. Unfortunately this requires immediate amputation of her leg.
Midnite is young and extremely social. She should be just as agile with an amputated leg as a four legged cat once recovered. This cat deserves a chance, she's had a rough start but she was so sweet. She was dragging herself in spite of repeatedly falling when getting up, to nuzzle on my lap. It was so cute, I couldn't just let her die from the pain and cold she was in.
The estimated bill is for $5200. This will cover the cost of surgery and getting fixed. Blue Pearl, the ER that is currently holding her through the weekend have been very generous with discounting as much as they could. Any sized donation helps.
