About this campaign

Midnight has been with me since 2021 and is my first ever pet. I adopted Midnight through a local cat adoption organization when he was about 7 years old. When I first adopted Midnight, he was rather overweight, but has since dropped to a healthy weight since he’s gotten sick with his FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis)/ FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease).

In 2023, he developed a urethral blockage that sent him to the vet ER. After a second blockage, the vet suggested PU surgery to prevent future blockages, along with a strict regimen of prescription cat food. Midnight is currently seeing specialists including Dr. Lechner at Vet Referral Associates to perform a diagnostic of his current condition which may include more surgery or radiation.

After adopting Midnight, there was an instant attachment to this big guy. He is an affectionate and cuddly older cat, which complicates things because ever since his extensive procedures, he has become incontinent. His incontinence can make him more prone to UTIs and because of his conditions, he has racked up a long history of vet visits and expenses to keep his condition manageable.

Due to increasing cost of living and the costs of his many hospital visits in 2023, the resurgence of urinary tract problems will prove to be difficult to cover. I hope to give Midnight a more comfortable and cuddle-filled life if his symptoms can be alleviated.
