Mika is a 3 year old Labrador Retriever in High Bridge, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Obstruction.

Mika joined our family in June 2021 shortly after we lost our black lab Abby. Our other dog Jack has anxiety and was searching the house for his missing friend. Being a silver lab she was a very active puppy and would grab whatever she could get ahold of, especially kids socks. She’s had a couple trips to the ve, and one very expensive surgery to remove an object. Unfortunately she’s done it again

This past April, Mika spent a week in the Crowne veterinary animal hospital after a big surgery to remove a sock stuck in her intestines. The bills were over $15k when done, and luckily we had some pet insurance to help, but the out of pocket expenses were still high.

Mika has 2 two legged sisters that love her very much and play with her all the time. She loves to sleep next to anyone in bed, but can be a bed hog. Her four legged step brother Jack, and her play together all the time. They are also the guardians of the house, alerting us to any other dog walking by that they want to go play with.

Due to her very recent surgery and a large tax bill this year, we don’t have the expendable cash for another expense surgery. We’d be distraught if we had to put such a young dog down and it would upset the kids and her fur brother.
