About this campaign
My husband and I got Mika as a puppy. We got her in a fishing village in upstate New York. We drove three hours through hills and dirt roads to get her and she kinda picked us. We brought her back home where she lives in the house in Connecticut with us. She is a Siberian Husky so she has cute howls and yips and sometimes sounds like she talks.
One of the pictures is of my God daughter reading her a story. Even though she can't read yet, she knows she is sick and thinks that will make her better. Mika loves her treats after her walks and becomes very demanding if you forget. She loves to watch for bunnies and squirrels that live in the yard. She gets excited and howls when she sees them.
Lost my job of ten years due to the pandemic. I am currently doing delivery for Grub Hub and Instacart. Funeral costs for my husband and house repairs drained my savings.
Mika has a mass cell tumor. It was operated on once and now has grown back so another operation to remove and treatment where they take a piece of the tumor and make serum to hopefully prevent the tumor from reforming are needed. She is treated by Dr. Belden at New Milford Animal Hospital in New Milford, CT.
Mika has been by our side through my husband's operations. He has had open heart surgery and she has been there for me when I lost my husband two years ago in a tragic accident. My husband was the love of my life. We were married in 2008. He was my best friend and he loved Mika. She sometimes looks for him and doesn't understand where he went.
