Milagro is a 3 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Bowie, MD, who needs $2,000 for Lung Contusion Care.

My husband saw a little dog get hit by a car and rushed him to an emergency vet. After receiving support on Facebook, we decided to save him and named him Milagros, meaning "miracle" in Spanish. He is severely matted, unneutered, and has no microchip. Thankfully, the vet shaved him for comfort. We've reached out for help but no luck. For now, we’ll bring him home and figure out the next steps.

Milagro has a hemorrhage in his left lung, but his right side is fine. His matted fur protected him. He’s in an oxygen chamber at Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty and expected to recover well. His bloodwork is normal, and his kidneys and electrolytes are great. He has a blood clot in his kidney, so he’s receiving fluids and medication. We hope to bring him home in the morning.

Milagro is special because he instantly connected with my husband, who felt compelled to help him. He could have passed away before receiving care, but they trusted each other in this battle. Milagro put his full trust in my husband, and we are committed to saving him.

We’re in a difficult spot after recent events set us back financially. We paid $3K upfront hoping for donations, but Milagro’s prolonged vet stay is making it hard to continue. Thankfully, the vet is helping, and we hope for good news tomorrow.
