My almost 15-year-old dog Miles is such a sweet boy. He's been one of the easiest dogs ever for me to raise. I got him at about a year old from Northern CA Border Collie Rescue. He was picked up as a stray, sent to the animal shelter, to a foster home for the rescue, then to another foster and then I drove over an hour to meet him. That's how he got his name Miles, because of the miles he traveled

Miles has needed some follow-up testing since he had been diagosed at Stage 3 Kidney Disease quite awhile ago. 4/14/25 he got really sick with vomiting, no appetite and not being able to walk hardly at all, and I was afraid I was gonna lose him. Urinanalysis done on Tuesday 15th which said he has bladder inflammation/infection. He is on Clavamox. Vet visit next week to discuss bloodwork & more.

Miles has been a sweetheart his whole life and has been okay being in the shadows sometimes of my other dogs. He adores chasing and playing and running and swimming. Once my true love dog died 4 years ago, Miles took on that role and lay by my side for the year that I was sick. He never complained that it took me a while to realize how magical he is.

I have been working hard on building my business income, and I had to move suddenly a few years ago when my travel trailer had a leak and got mold. Rentals in my area for people with animals are expensive. And I'm not willing to give up my beloved animals.
