Mili-Mae is a 9-year-old Domestic Medium Hair Cat in Cedar Rapids, IA, who needs $2,000 for Partial Mandibulectomy.

Mili came to us on September 1st 2021. We rescued her off the streets and after searching for her family with no luck she became a member of ours. Mili came to us at very underweight, flea ridden, rotting teeth, and gingival stomatitis. This April we found a tumor growing on the left side of her jaw. It’s been causing her discomfort but she will still eat for us at this time.

Mili is attached to my hip, seriously, it doesn’t matter where I am or where I go in the house, she’s right on my heals. She’s so loving and kind natured. She’s making biscuits on me as I type in fact! Mili shares our home with my boyfriend who treats her as a princess and my two other cats who have slowly accepted Mili into the household. With a little fight here and there. She’s the glue to us.

Since the day I rescued her she cry’s if she can’t find me and when I get home she’s always the first to greet me. It’s become habit that the first thing I do when I wake up/come home that we HAVE to have a little cuddle sesh, she absolutely demands it, and I’m happy to oblige.I also cannot hold a text book or computer on my lap without her spreading across my lap making it impossible to focus.

Because Mili has a tumor her case is a little more serious. She requires removal of the entirety of her left jaw. Currently she still needs X-rays and a biopsy done to really know the extend of the cancer. Her main vet who is running lab work and X-rays is Dr. Delaney at VCA animal hospital and her vet doing the surgery will be at the Iowa State University Small animal hospital.

I am a full time dental hygiene student and my boyfriend is the only person with an income in our home. He makes roughly 1,800 a month. After bills and rent we have very little money left over that we often use for food, gas, and cat supplies. We desperately need help.
