About this campaign

Milly, our 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix, is the heart of our home. A gift from my father at 3 weeks old, she has been my constant companion through every life change. In October 2025, she braved a 27+ hour journey from Sri Lanka to San Diego. Though it cost over $3,000 to bring her halfway across the world, leaving her was never an option. She is family, and I will do whatever it takes for her care.

In Nov 2025,Milly was bitten by a husky leading to the discovery of a heart murmur. An echo confirmed PDA with severe heart enlargement and systolic dysfunction. Without surgery at UC Veterinary Medical Center with Dr. Timothy Hodge, heart failure is imminent. Ductal occlusion is the preferred curative method and once closed, her prognosis is excellent.

Milly is the sweetest cute little dog anyone could meet. She is incredibly loving, gentle, and
playful. She has such a happy personality and always brings smiles to everyone around her.
She especially loves children and gets so excited whenever she sees them. She travels everywhere with us and stays by my side to provide comfort whenever I feel sad. She is truly the soul of our home.

My husband is a graduate student and we solely rely on his monthly salary of $3178.Due to my visa status, I am legally unable to work. After rent and utilities, we have very limited funds and exhausted our savings on Milly’s initial diagnosis.
