About this campaign
Milo was my older sister’s dog that she rescued in 2011. She survived multiple abusive relationships with Milo by her side. As she grew older and began a family of her own, she could no longer care for Milo. I came in without hesitation and decided to care for him along with my dad. Milo has been my best friend since I was 13 years old and has been by my side keeping a smile on my face.
Milo is the chillest dog in the world. He sleeps in with me whenever I have a long night and gets cranky if I’m up too late. He still gets zoomies every night and loves to throw the ball and play with cute and fluffy toys although they don’t last long. When me and my dad come home he’s always alert and happy to see us. Milo loves all humans and babies especially.
Milo has the sweetest eyes that always stare right back at you. He’s big and tall but so sweet. He’s not the type to jump and lick all over. He is gentle and rubs up on his favorite person at the moment to catch their attention and feel close. Milo loves to lay by the kitchen and watch me cook with fascination. He’s scared of thunderstorms, car rides and water bottles. A gentle giant.
About a year ago, I noticed a bump on Milo that began to grow rapidly. After a very scary mass rupture, we gave him a surgery to try to remove the cancer. Milo has grade 2 sarcoma. Based on his most recent scan, Milo will need to undergo a few sessions of chemotherapy. This is devastating as he has been so happy and active.
I am a recent college graduate and am barely beginning to work in my field. I am putting my aspirations of graduate school on the back burner. I am looking for a second job to help alleviate the financial stress, but worry that this leaves me with less time to care for Milo.
