About this campaign
Milo is 8 years old and has been with us for 6 years. His original family abandoned him at Animal Care and Control and he spent the next year in multiple foster homes and dozens of home visits hoping to be adopted. When we rescued him he was a ball of anxiety, aggression, and bad manners. Over the years he has melted in to a sweet loving boy who loves to cuddle. He is so full of spunk and energy!
Milo is definitely a city dog. He loves parks but his favorite walks consist of poking his head into various shops and restaurants. At home he's an expert sock thief and will wear you out playing fetch. He's either set on "high" running around the house, or "low" cuddling in his mom's lap. There is no in between!
Covid has left one of us furloughed for 3 months, and the other with a pay cut. Additionally, we have been going through IVF for 1.5 years which has wiped out our savings. It's heartbreaking to have to choose between a future baby and our fur baby.
After several visits, our regular vet transferred us to an orthopedic specialist who diagnosed Milo with an ACL tear. It requires TPLO surgery. If we do not go forward with the surgery he will have a limp, chronic pain, and will need his physical activity substantially restricted. The thought of our very active pup no longer allowed to run or jump is devastating.
Although he is easily spooked by strangers or thunderstorms, Milo loves kids! He doesn't mind kids screaming, running up to him, even grabbing him! Maybe because he knows they always have tasty sticky hands? We've even caught him following strollers in search of goldfish! His favorite trick to show them is walking on his back legs, which he can do all the way across a room!
