About this campaign

Mimi is a Chihuahua puppy that was born with a severe case of Congenital Hydrocephalus. She is trying so hard to fight her diagnosis and we're here to support her fight as long as she is!

Right now Mimi is living in a playpen, as until she gets her surgery it is too risky to allow her to have reign of the whole house. We were advised if she hits her head too hard it can cause her issues. She Loves to snuggle with her mom and chase her fingers around the floor.

Mimi is the absolute sweetest puppy you will ever meet, she LOVES to snuggle and play. She is so top heavy she sometimes faceplants while trying to run around but it doesn't seem to phase her one bit!

Mimi has a severe case of hydrocephalus. This is where there is a malformation in her skull that doesn't allow the fluid in her brain to drain as it should. Without surgery, she is only expected to live 6 months to a year. The surgery will place a shunt that will drain the fluid from her skull into her abdomen to relieve the pressure on her brain. She goes to the Kansas State Vet Hospital.

Unfortunately, while we do have a small emergency fund, her surgery is expected to cost around $8000 which is way more than we are ablle to afford. Most pet owners with animals with her disease will euthanize, but as long as she wants to keep fighting we want to help her.
