About this campaign

Mimosa was adopted in Utah a couple of years ago. She has suspected but unconfirmed Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which means she has exceptionally poor balance. She crawls and scoots around to get where she wants to go, and loves to lay on the bed, catching sunrays. Until recently, Mim has been apparently healthy.

Mim has a gentle, sweet disposition. Before her seizures began, she would greet me with a meow and purr each time I returned from work. She enjoys watching outside birds and typically doesn't mind a walk with me in her kitty pack, although I'm hesitant to take her out recently with her new history of seizures.

Mims determination sets her apart from the rest. Before her seizures, she would use her claws to hoist herself up the side of the bed. She grew strong after lots of at-home PT and hydrotherapy. She climbs around less now, sadly. But her goofy flops still make me smile and I'm beyond grateful to have her in my life.

The focal seizures began about 3 months ago. A vet friend recommended a visit to Colorado State University teaching school's neurological department in Fort Collins, CO. We saw Aaron Rozental, who worked with me financially during her visit to ensure she was started on anti-convulsant medications immediately.

Being off work for 2 months after back surgery has made it hard. Vet wants to do an MRI and spinal fluid tap to determine if Mim has an infection not visible via bloodwork. I miss her happy, carefree self. Seizures make her angry.
