Minka is a 1 month old Mix-Breed in Houston, TX, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Hospitalization for Aspiration Pneumonia.

Minka was initially found at a demolition site by a very sweet family. They picked her up, kept her safe and eventually found her way to ThisIsHouston! She’s only about 3-4 weeks old and was dropped off at the ER for care.

Poor girl had wounds and maggots on the bottom half of her body. While it's unclear what happened to her, but her wounds have been healing well. Right when she was getting ready to discharge, she aspirated while being bottle-fed. Aspiration can be common and is a lung infection that occurs when they inhale foreign material (such as food).

She’s now battling aspiration pneumonia and is fighting for her life. 60% of her lungs are affected and she’s on high-flow oxygen. There's a chance that that she declines despite our best efforts but right now she’s holding her own and fighting so hard.

ThisIsHouston is determined to give Minka every chance at a future no matter the cost. Her care is extremely expensive but they didn't hesitate to take her in. Please consider donating to help Minka during her fight!

ThisIsHouston said “let’s give her 24 hours,” and this little girl made the decision for them. She fought for her life, and she won. She survived because she was destined to. She was destined to make a lucky family very happy! She’s now about 7-8 weeks old and is almost 5 lbs. She will definitely be large breed when fully grown. She still needs to gain more weight and strength but she is on her way to a full recovery! However, her bill still remains. Please consider donating to help Minka's healing journey!
