Minty is a 11 year old American Shorthair in Vancouver, WA, who needs $2,000 for Dental with Full Mouth Extractions.

Minty became part of our family many years ago, back in Indiana. We got her through a fostering organization, PetsConnect. She was born on the streets but then cared for in a loving foster home until we adopted her. She retained some wild habits, like stealing chicken bones from the kitchen trash! Minty joined other cats and a dog. All four of them made our big move to Portland with us in 2018!

Minty and our other pets are all in their elder years now. Parsley her older ‘brother’ is 12! Our pets have been happy and healthy but are developing some serious issues like periodontal disease, which is genetic and irreversible. Poor Minty has it bad; she has one tooth falling out and others in terrible shape. This causes pain and inflammation in her mouth and sinuses. She needs extractions!

Minty is a playful sweetheart with the most adorable tiny meow. She loves to cuddle, and starts purring immediately! Minty loves to hear her human family members sing, regardless of whether it’s quiet or loud. When she hears singing, she will come into the room to hang out and listen! Minty’s favorite nap spots are the top of her cat tower and her special basket that she’s had for years.

Caring for aging pets requires special, expensive food etc. Parsley had to have all his teeth extracted last year at a cost of $2K. He feels great now. With kids at home and in college we don’t have another 2K! We love sweet Minty and want to see her feeling well again too.
