Mishka is a 14-year-old Samoyed in Arden, NC, who needs $1,600 for Adequan Injections.

This handsome boy has been a faithful assistant to his owner, who is disabled from several chronic health conditions. When Mishka is not busy helping his owner, he spends his days with his feline brother Checkers. When out and about, Mishka's personality, floofy looks, and unique "sammy smile" wins over people wherever he goes.

As a Medical Service Dog, Mishka goes with his owner most everywhere she goes. Mishka's owner relies on his ability to sense irregularities in her body's vital signs to prevent falls and other E.R. visits that are avoidable with Mishka's help. During his owner's PT sessions, the therapists have learned to watch the dog before pushing for extra sets. If he's napping she's in for an arduous session!

Mishka's favorite days are... SNOW DAYS!! He uses his big adorable nose to shovel snow piles into the air then snaps at the snow mid-air as if trying to catch it. He also loves to "supervise" his feline brother Checkers as he hunts for birds through the windows and glass door.

Mishka has arthritis in multiple joints and his spine, making the 3 flights of stairs to his apartment painful and difficult. His owner is unable to transfer to a ground flood apartment. He is receiving medications and water rehab therapy to improve his mobility. Continued water therapy, cold laser therapy and monthly pain treatments would make a world of difference for Mishka and his owner!!
