About this campaign
Miss Adventure was adopted as a young kitten from a shelter back when I lived in Philadelphia. Since then, she's accompanied me for a while decade and even through a cross-country move; I've spent most of my adult life with her. COVID-19 complications have impacted my ability to make a living, but she's brought me a great deal of comfort through that.
Miss Adventure is a sweet and rambunctious senior cat who likes to explore and is very friendly to everyone she meets; she's charmed all of my roommates. She has a little bit of a sensitive stomach, so she gets a very particular IAMS diet every day, although she's not a picky eater.
She loves her fish kick toy and rolling around in catnip! She also loves to explore, as mentioned, and is impressively good at getting up on top of bookcases. There's a lot of places around our apartment that she likes to nap or people-watch, and she's just a sweetheart—who just gets a little spicy when she gets her nails clipped.
Miss Adventure, as a senior kitty, has gotten a touch of hyperthyroidism we think led her to eat something she shouldn't have that lodged in her stomach and is obstructing her digestion. While she's momentarily stable, she urgently needs surgery to remove the blockage, which will run as high as $8000 through Veterinary Emergency Group of Lincoln Park, as quoted by Dr. Romy Boiskin.
Between the economic recession and COVID-19 complications making it difficult for me to work and take care of personal needs, I've had a lot of financial hardship. Miss Adventure means the world to me, and I don't know what I would do without her.
