About this campaign
In 2021, my heart was touched by Missie, a blind puppy from Mexico, rescued at the age of 3 months. Missie was tormented by kids that caused injuries to her tail and paw. After receiving essential care and treatment, I welcomed her into my home at 5.5 months. Since then, we’ve been inseparable, sharing love, healing, and joy on our journey together.
I had bloodwork done for Missie at the VCA Urgent Care in Mar Vista after excessive vomiting. Her bloodwork showed low platelet count and elevated liver values. VCA recommended a follow up with an internal medicine specialist as soon as possible for an abdominal ultrasound, plasma transfusion, and hospitalization.
Despite being born blind, Missie is unstoppable. She embraces life with her love for exploring and running. Full of energy, she could play on the beach all day. Missie is a social butterfly, greeting strangers with a wagging tail and a big grin. Curious and playful, her favorite pastime is fetching her ball, using her keen sense of smell to track it down. Her happiness is infectious and a blessing
Unfortunately, the amount of tests required to diagnose Missie has left her bills in the thousands. I’m not able to afford the additional medical care that she desperately needs.
