About this campaign
Missy came into my life by accident. I went to the shelter to adopt a kitty after mine passed, and went to the kennels just for the heck of it. After thinking about that little face all night, I went back to the shelter. She started jumping up on the door when she saw me, so I opened it and went in. She started kissing me nonstop so, that was my cue to make my home, her home.
Missy is my very first dog. My little princess. She follows me everywhere i go, loves "scritches" from everyone, and is very happy to see us when we walk through the door... even if we've only been gone for 5 minutes, to her it must seem like days. Missy is most definitely a mama's girl, who likes to be held and rocked like a baby. She's an absolute sweetheart.
These last 11 months have been run by Murphy's Law. Anything bad that could possibly happen, did. I had to move, lost my mom to cancer, lost my job, had to move again, lost my dog Shamrock to cancer...Missy had a lousy start, she deserves more time.
Missy was recently diagnosed by Wheatfield Animal Hospital, with a mass on her foot. Due to her nail being involved, and not knowing exactly what the mass consists of, amputation was recommended. I agree with their assessment due to her sister having a tumor that nothing could be done about. Missy is in otherwise healthy condition for her age, and is a happy little girl.
Missy has developed a bit of neediness since her sissy has been gone, and has also developed a fear of car rides. She loves her Sunday morning special camp breakfasts because, they consist of sausage and eggs. Her favorite human treat is the occasional French fry, but a piece of pepperoni is a close second. She makes me laugh when I'm behind a closed door, and i hear her sniffing to find me.
