When we first shared Misty’s story, this sweet little Chihuahua was facing a frightening diagnosis. After her family discovered a lump on her mammary gland, they learned that Misty had a mammary tumor that needed to be surgically removed.

Misty has been a beloved member of her family since she was just two months old. Adopted around Valentine's Day in 2019, this tiny Chihuahua quickly stole everyone's heart with her sweet personality and loving nature. For seven wonderful years, she has been more than a pet—she has been family. Now, Misty is facing one of the biggest challenges of her life.
After going into heat, her family noticed a lump on one of her lower mammary glands. They rushed her to the veterinarian, where they received heartbreaking news: Misty has a mammary tumor that needs to be surgically removed. To give her the best chance at a healthy future, her veterinarian also recommends that she be spayed during the procedure to reduce the risk of future complications.
Misty has already begun treatment, receiving medication to help shrink the tumor, but surgery cannot wait. The procedure is expected to cost approximately $706, and her family is hoping to raise the remaining $400 needed to move forward with her lifesaving care.
