About this campaign
Mocha’s world changed in an instant. At only 3½ years old, this sweet longhaired Dachshund suddenly lost the use of her back legs due to IVDD. By the time help was rescued, surgery was no longer an option, but Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge refused to give up on her.
Thanks to RBARI’s partnership with Second Chance Pet Adoption League, Mocha received an emergency neurology consult, MRI, and specialized care to keep her comfortable and give her the best possible future.
The good news is that Mocha is no longer in pain. The difficult reality is that her paralysis may be permanent. She is currently incontinent and needs ongoing care, frequent bathing, and bladder expression to prevent infections and sores. Even so, Mocha’s spirit remains bright. She still loves squeaky toys, gentle dog friends, and every bit of kindness she receives.
RBARI is committed to helping Mocha heal and preparing her for the loving home she deserves, but her medical care is costly. Donations will help cover her MRI, neurology care, rehabilitation, and long-term support while allowing the rescue to continue saying yes to animals with nowhere else to turn.
Please consider donating to help Mocha keep moving forward. 💗
