Mocha is a 3-year-old Chocolate Lab in St Thomas, ON, who needs $2,387 for Anterior Cruciate Repair - TPLO.

Mocha has been with us since she was eight weeks old. We have no other pets or children and so Mocha is our baby. Mocha is depressed being stuck inside with limited mobility. Her life has changed drastically and we have to limit her joy and excitement, as to not injure her other leg. She is such a happy dog and is struggling as she doesn't understand why she can't run and play.

Mocha is a member of our family, she eats and sleeps alongside us however now with her injury she is unable to jump into our bed by herself. She LOVES balls, and would never turn down a chance to play fetch, unfortunately she will never have this experience quite the same. She loves treats and tries to steal 'treats' off our counters (including melon-see video)!

Unfortunately, with the current situation, we understand that many families and individuals across the country are struggling, financially and mentally. My husband was also laid off during this time, Mocha has been crucial in helping us both with anxiety & mental health.

Two weeks ago, Mocha incurred a Cruciate Ligament Rupture while playing fetch, which is extremely painful, and has caused lameness in her right hind leg. Mocha is being treated at Watzin Veterinary Clinic.
The recommended surgery is TPLO. The surgery would prevent the knee from rupturing again and she is expected to return to normal activity and mobility after - however no more fetch!

Mocha loves everyone, animals and people. She is so excited to meet everyone she can (unless there is a ball around!). She is always so happy to be outside, and looks for mud puddles whenever possible - the more water the better! She is a happy, silly puppy who loves to play and cuddle, and especially loves her ear scratches!
