Mochi is a 4 month old Italian Greyhound in Wilmington , NC, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Repair Distal Radius/Ulna Fracture.

Ok so this is a pretty unique situation I believe. Mochi is a 4 month old Italian Greyhound and she was in a tough situation where she was crated most of the day and so I agreed to foster her until we could find her a proper home.
I have 3 dogs and have fostered dogs before so I was happy to have her and as soon as I spent time with her I could tell she was my kinda dog, very sweet and smart.

So within 2 hours of being at my home she excitedly jumped off a couch and broke one of front legs. It wasn’t an exceptionally high couch and my other dogs jump off it all the time but I guess her little puppy bones couldn’t handle it. Italian Greys are particularly subject to this issue unfortunately. Unfortunately it was a distal radius/ulna fracture which cannot be healed by splitting.

She is handling the injury like a trooper and she is really a special dog. Mochi is smart and sweet and being so brave throughout the whole process so far. I love her already and just want what’s best for her.

So bottom line is she needs a very expensive surgery and this hits at a terrible time for me financially. This is just a bad luck and bad timing situation where I went from trying to do her a favor by fostering her and all of a sudden she needs a $3000 surgery to get better.
