When animal rescuers first saw Modo, they were shocked. How long had the poor pup lived with a hideous, cancerous, painful tumor nearly the size of a softball growing from his mouth?

The growth is so massive Modo can barely eat! He has slowly starved and become emaciated.

Mutt Misfits Society discovered Modo suffering in an animal shelter. They immediately raced him to an emergency animal hospital.

Modo's veterinary team biopsied the tumor and sent it to pathology. They are creating a game plan for his surgery and care. The main priority is
stabilizing Modo's fragile condition and ensuring he receives proper pain relief during his challenging journey.

"It's clear that Modo is in rough shape beyond just the physical pain of the enormous mass on his face," Shyloh B., from Mutt Misfits Society, tells Waggle. "He is malnourished and frail, unable to defend himself against the simplest infections."
