Moka is a 10-year-old Labrador in West Rutland, VT, who needs $640 for Cushing's Disease.

Moka was born on 2/4/2012 - 1 of 9 puppies. She was the smallest and came to live with us at 8 weeks old. We had just lost our Black lab Orca, when we heard of her litter. She is a gorgeous dark brown lab with a loving personality. She is very friendly and has kisses for everyone. We adopted her and her sister Willow at the same time - with only 2 puppies left we could not choose just 1!

Moka aka Mo & MoMo, is a talker/barker. She is very smart and has me and my husband wrapped around her paw. She and her sister Willow don't like to be separated-a bonded pair for sure. We adopted their mother Dakota when she needed to be re-homed. In their younger years, all the girls attended day care, riding on the puppy bus. When dad retired, they were thrilled to help around the house :-)

Moka likes to sleep on her back, especially in the recliner. For a lab, she is not much of a water dog, preferring to get just her feet wet in the pool. At the age of 10 she is finally consenting to fetch a ball on occasion. Moka can be a picky eater and will spit pills out if not very well hidden. She loves to ride shot gun. Moka has lots of stories to tell Aunt Melissa when she visits.

Moka was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease in 2021 after testing for many other diseases. She is on numerous medications, special food, supplements, regular blood and urine tests, and Ultra sounds. She recently developed a bacterial infection in her kidneys and requires antibiotics for 6 weeks. Our veterinarian has been a great help with Moka

My husband is retired on disability. In April of 2020, I was diagnosed with Waldenstrom's Lymphoma, draining a lot of our savings. We paid Moka's bills by credit card which are maxed out. We need to help Moka live her best life for whatever time she has left.
