Help This Brave Momma and Her Puppy Heal and Feel Safe

A poor momma dog was spotted limping through traffic, her injured leg barely supporting her weight as she darted between cars in a panic. ACF Animal Rescue received an urgent call and rushed to help. They found her near a chai shop—frightened, limping, and trying to disappear into the noise of the street. Her leg was badly wounded, and no one knew what she had endured. She wouldn’t let anyone near, terrified and in pain. Not far behind her was her little puppy, just as scared and just as lost.

Rescuers worked quickly and gently. They managed to catch both the mother and her pup. The puppy calmed almost instantly once at the shelter. As soon as he felt the warmth of a blanket under him, he curled up and sighed with relief. He accepted pets, love, and food with a quiet kind of gratitude, finally safe. The mama, though, was still in survival mode. She wouldn’t look at anyone, only ate when alone, and stood staring at the wall, frozen in fear.

Her body is healing, but her spirit needs time. ACF Animal Rescue’s team is giving her the gentle care she deserves, with no rush and no pressure.
