About this campaign
I had my last cat for 17 years and after he passed the void was just too huge. I looked to adopt right away and so I looked on petfinder. I got a response from a shelter in Jersey called Easel Animal Rescue so I rented a car and made the drive with a friend. Momo jumped into my arms and said hello right away. I knew that he wanted to come with me and I couldn't stop thinking about him .
Momo was adopted with his brother from another mother, Raja. They were a bonded pair. They are so sweet with each other and I love to watch their interactions because they are so different. My roommates love Momo and Raja. He's very outgoing and loves people and other animals. He's brave and not scared to say hi to anyone.
Momo is a special cat. I found out he was born with a genetic condition called a portosystemic shunt. He has an extra vein that puts toxins from his liver back in his system. That does not stop him from being extremely brave and curious. He loves to go for walks. He is a happy and affectionate cat. He loves to great people with the a head butt.
Momo had litigation surgery on his shunt but he still has complications from his condition. He suffers from neurological side effects if he eats or consumes the wrong things. He is on anti seizure medication and a prescription diet. On Friday, May 20th morning he knocked over a bottle and ate some pills which had a severe affects on him which was complicated by his condition.
I have spent over $6000 on Momo's emergency room visits and surgery. I have already maxed out my credit card to take care of him and I am currently at capacity with paying for his medical expenses. He is being cared for by doctors at Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.
