About this campaign
About two years ago Monarch the rottie came into our lives as a gift. He was a cute black puppy that looked like a black bear. At the time we already had two dogs, my family was very excited since it was the first time we had a big dog. We thought of his name because at first we wanted to name him a spice like our other dogs. But hubby thought of the bear on the California flag named Monarch.
Monarch, Ginger and Canelo are not only outside dogs but also inside dogs. They have a very happy and active life, and have their own corner in the living room with a bed and their bowls. They get treats and homemade foods. They are very patient and playful with our 5 year old son, family and friends and are loved by everyone who meets them.
Monarch is special because he is family. He has a strong personality and is a very sweet and loving dog. He has a beautiful black with brown coat that shines after a shower but can get dusty and dirty fast. He loves his siblings and going on new adventures with them. He is a clumsy dog but gets up and keeps going with optimism.
Monarchs medical situation is an emergency. He got diagnosed with coxofemoral (hip) luxation, since we took him in for a possible broken leg. He is only walking with three legs since his back right leg is just hanging since it is dislocated and needs the surgery to be able to put the hip joint back with the femur. The hospital that will do the surgery is the Petroglyph Animal Hospital in Abq, NM.
This is a sudden major expense and we don’t have an emergency fund. We are expecting to grow our family but we don’t want to give up a member due to this hardship. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
