Every day, she returned, bringing them food and water, determined to keep them safe while searching for a solution. But just when it seemed things couldn’t get worse, the unthinkable happened. Over the weekend, she found the mama dog had been shot in the leg—injured, scared, and struggling to care for her remaining babies.
