About this campaign

I foster for a local rescue/shelter. I fostered Moose as he was recovering from Parvo. He also had a clogged salivary gland and diarrhea problems. He recovered from all. I chose to foster fail when he preferred to play with my 3 big, adult dogs over the other puppies I was fostering. It was his way of telling me he belonged here.

Moose prefers to be near me as much as he can. I have a toddler bed repurposed as a dog bed in my office where I work full time. He sleeps there with one of his dog siblings. At night and when I'm gone he's crated. Moose mostly loves to cuddle and sunbathe. He's been sick or in pain much of his young life so I think once he recovers from surgery he will have more interests.

Moose has had a rough start. We're working on his health and behavior everyday. When I sit down on the couch he's the first one that wants to come up to cuddle with me. He will snuggle under the covers too. We will be in the middle of a very short walk sometimes just making it to the front yard and he lays down for a good sunbathe.

Moose likely suffered a growth plate injury between 4-7 months old. It caused his radius to stop growing and it's now too short, which is causing him significant pain. He needs an ulnar ostectomy with possible elbow arthroscopy. His surgery is Nov 9.

My 6 year old dog had TPLO surgery in April and already needs her second one done 11/16. Moose needs his surgery. I'm still paying on April's surgery. I'm doing everything I can to pay for them myself. Three pet surgeries in one year is a lot. They're worth it.
