About this campaign

*A Pathway to Hope*

Despite nerve damage, we have hope baby Moose has a long life ahead! But…we need your help!

Please help us to get Moose the specialized care and diagnostics needed to survive and thrive. Little Moose was discovered with his siblings after his mom was suspected to have been hit by a car. A wonderful couple trapped the kittens, knowing they were not safe, and reached out to area rescues, with no reply.

Realizing that one of the kittens was unwell and much smaller than the others, with what they believed to be “swimmers syndrome” (an unsteady gait), as well as incontinence, they took him to the veterinarian. It was initially thought that Moose had a deformity not allowing him to empty his bladder, and a specialty hospital was recommended. The hope was surgical correction.

The couple continued to reach out unsuccessfully to rescues for help. Moose’s rescuer and foster mom shared, “Please get back to me… I really need help with him.” As soon as we saw little Moose, and the devotion that this family had to finding him help, we knew we had to do everything we could for this little fighter. We teamed up with our best partners at RBARI to give baby Moose every chance at life.

Sadly, however, following a consultation with a surgeon at a specialty hospital, it was found that Moose has nerve damage, and this could be a lifelong condition. The next step is a consultation with a neurologist to determine Moose’s long term prognosis. We have gotten this far in helping Moose, and his devoted foster family – but we need your help!

Please consider a donation towards Moose’s upcoming consultation and continued care, as we do everything we can to give this baby the life he deserves. To find out more about adoption, please visit apathwaytohope.org.

Update 2/22: Moose is thriving and not letting anything slow him down!

Moose has adjusted wonderfully to his new life with his incredibly devoted foster family, and he's become the social butterfly of the household! He’s the first to greet any new foster cat, playing all day with his foster brother. Despite his mobility challenges, he doesn’t let anything slow him down—he easily keeps up with the other cats and even enjoys baths now!

Moose's favorite thing? Churros! He has to be the first to get one, or he'll try to steal it from his foster friends.

His foster mom says, "We love him very much and are so glad he found us!"

A Pathway to Hope couldn’t agree more—he truly has found his forever place in their hearts.
