Moose is a 6-year-old Lab Mix in Plaistow, NH, who needs $2,000 for TPLO/ CCL Repair.

We rescued Moose from a shelter in Arkansas in February 2018. Our son had just turned three and they've been inseparable since. To this day he says Moose was his best birthday gift ever. Moose loves nothing more than to be with us and never misses the chance to play fetch, swim, cuddle, and take the ride to and from school each day with his best friend and dad.

Moose is a lovebug and the perfect dog for our family. He makes it his mission to protect our son from anything and everything. He instinctively knows when I'm feeling anxious or stressed and will place his big head in my lap and cuddle. We might have rescued him first but he quickly repaid the debt by rescuing us back.

If there is a ball around, don't let Moose see or smell it! Playing fetch by far one of his most favorite things to do. Swimming, fishing, hunting, and playing with his stuffies are a close second. Moose is a licensed deer tracker and has helped to recover several deer and even located two fawns that were separated from their mother after being hit by a car. He works hard and plays harder.

Moose began limping a few weeks back and our worst fears were confirmed during an orthopedic consult at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital. Dr. Catherine Stecyk, DVM reviewed his x-rays and examined his leg thoroughly then let us know he has a torn cruciate ligament. She has recommended T.P.L.O. surgery to repair Moose's knee injury so he can enjoy being active with our family once again.

Our pet insurance provider will not cover the cost of surgery Moose needs. We are a single income household due to chronic, progressive, autoimmune disorder. The surgical expense is out of our reach. Moose deserves to be pain free and active again to enjoy life with us.
