About this campaign

Just days before Hurricane Beryl tore through Houston, TX, this dog named Morgan Wallen, his siblings, and their mother were in desperate need of rescuing. Their mother had been chained in a backyard, helpless as her puppies were in a box for strangers to grab for free. With the storm fast approaching, rescuers from Heart of the Underdog stepped in just in time, securing the entire family before more disaster struck.

One by one, Morgan’s siblings found loving homes, starting their new lives filled with warmth and care. But for Morgan and his mom, the journey isn’t over. As the little pup grew, his caretakers noticed something wasn’t right. His face swelled painfully, his skin became inflamed, and his eyes and mouth showed signs of distress.

Morgan had developed a severe case of puppy strangles, which is a rare and painful autoimmune condition that can be life-threatening if left untreated. He has needed specialists at A&M to help manage his condition while undergoing extensive tests and treatments to heal his skin, eyes, and mouth. However, he hasn’t lost his gentle and sweet soul.

Morgan’s medical care has been costly, and since he’s still on the road to recovery, every donation ensures that he gets the treatment he needs, and eventually, the forever home he deserves.

Please, give today and help Morgan move past his pain into happiness and health. Heart of the Underdog Rescue is so appreciative of donors like you that care as much for animals as they do.
