About this campaign

Morris came into my life nearly 10 years ago at only a few weeks old. I was still in middle school when my mother brought home this tiny little kitten in a box from the pet store for only $25. He was so small, still needing to be bottle fed and kept in a baby’s bassinet to avoid losing him in the house. Morris has since gone from a small kitten to a large and happy 17lb cat!

These past few years, I can say with full confidence that Morris is my furry best friend as we’ve essentially grew up together. Despite that, he is also deeply bonded to my mom and often times sleeps in her bed, lays in places he’s sat, and he trails behind everyone in the house when we walk past. Morris is simply a very loving and affectionate cat.

He’s probably also one of the most talkative and docile cats I’ve ever met. When he wants food, he verbalizes it with his soft meows and even leads us to his bowl to show when it’s empty. Not many cats enjoy baths or taking medicine, and while Morris isn’t the exception he still allows me to bathe him and directly feed him his medication with little to no resistance, I can even clip his nails.

In the past year or two, the issue of Morris’ megacolon became apparent when he began to have difficulty passing stool, and it becoming more and more frequent. The first time we visited the vet for it he was diagnosed with megacolon. The second time, he had required a deobstipation procedure that was done at Brilliant Vet Clinic only a few months back in April which came up to $1500.

I work freelance for a living and my income is not stable enough where I have $1500+ in emergency funds sitting for vet expenses. Just a few months ago I paid completely in full, but I simply can’t this time around.
