Mortimer James is a 17-year-old Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel in Lafayette, LA, who needs $1,500 for Intestinal Checkup, Fecal Test, Blood Work, and Possible Surgery.

Mortimer was on death row when I rescued him. He was 3 years old and as soon as I saw him I knew he was the one. I picked him up the next day after he was fixed and the rest is history.

At first Mortimer took time to adjust to his new home. He was abused in his prior home and it took some time to show him that not everyone is mean. He was sweet, loving and trusting despite all he had been through. He has been my companion for over 14 years. He loves our cats and has been a father figure to our other doggy rescues.

He shows love to everyone around him. He is goofy and loves to have toys. He is now deaf but still loves the squeaky ones..guess he feels it when he bites into them. He is happy when he sees you and although he is an oldie he does his own gallop to get to you.

Mortimer lost his hearing some years ago and has his share of lumps all over his body which comes from age. He has arthritis that some days makes it hard fir him yo move around but in the past week he has not eaten and has had bloody stools. He drinks water and urinates but soils himself. It seems something is wrong either his tummy or intestinal.

I am on disability and am on a fixed income. I do not qualify for care credit or scratchpay. Noone will do payment plans and I have noone to borrow money from..
It will mean everything to me if anyone helped. I know my baby still has more time left. He just needs help.
