About this campaign
Morton is a foster dog with RHR who was found badly injured in the middle of a highway in MS. He was found with a bully mix pal that was protecting him during rush hour. He was taken in by our rescue partner and completed his HW treatment in order to travel. Morton is in a foster home and was getting treatment for nerve damage caused from his previous injury when he began having seizures :(
Morton is a dream dog, he is obedient and gentle. It's hard to believe he was left as a stray. His foster is just smitten with him and is willing to do anything to get him better again. Morton befriends everything and everyone and is so appreciative of having a warm home to rest in. We can't wait to see him better!
Rhode Home Rescue is a non-profit, 100% volunteer run dog rescue in Rhode Island. We take in dogs from all life-stages and never shy away in taking medically needy dogs. Morton has quickly become a very medically needy dog, but we are determined to help him get better.
Morton suffered nerve damage from a shotgun blast at his front paw. He carries the paw in an odd fashion and was recommended for physical therapy, 16 visits at a cost of $70 per visit. He completed HW treatment in MS before arriving to RI A few days ago, Morton began having seizures (which was a new development) he was rushed to Ocean State Vet in East Greenwich, RI. They recommended an MRI.
Morton is so loving and kind even after humans left him in this despicable condition. He is so gentle and loving with every dog/cat/person he meets. A true gentleman. He is a great dog who was dealt a bad hand and still loves HARD! He will make someone a great companion. Before his medical emergency, he was our raffle-picker for the rescue!
