About this campaign
At just nine months old, Frosty entered Miami-Dade Animal Services in unimaginable condition — hairless, covered in open, infected ulcers, and fighting for his life. He was only a baby. That’s when Coco & Tubbs French and English Bulldog Rescue stepped in and refused to let his story end there.
Weeks into his recovery, Frosty began bleeding from his penis. He was rushed for emergency care and diagnosed with a urethral prolapse, requiring immediate surgery to save him. The initial procedure was successful — but Frosty’s fight wasn’t over. Scar tissue and possible underlying abnormalities have now caused his urethral opening to dangerously narrow. Today, it takes Frosty 10–15 long minutes just to empty his bladder. He leaks urine throughout the day and lives under constant risk of urinary obstruction, painful infections and a sudden, life-threatening emergency. If he goes 12–18 hours without urinating, he must be rushed to the ER immediately. This is not sustainable. It is not fair. And it is not the life this sweet boy deserve
Veterinary specialists have determined Frosty needs advanced corrective surgery and the cost is astronomical for our small rescue. This surgery could restore normal urinary function and eliminate the leakage that has kept him from being adopted. Because here’s the heartbreaking truth: Frosty is ready for a family. His body is the only thing holding him back.
Frosty is turning two years old in March. Despite everything he has endured, he is gentle, affectionate, wonderful with children, and good with other dogs. Yes, he was poorly bred as an “exotic lowrider” bulldog and has limb deformities — but orthopedic specialists have confirmed they are painless and do not impact his quality of life. The only barrier to adoption is his urinary condition. This surgery is his chance to live without discomfort. Without constant monitoring. Without the fear of emergency obstruction. It is his chance to finally be part of someone's family.
Coco & Tubbs French and English Bulldog Rescue has cared for Frosty for nearly a year while working tirelessly to secure this specialized care. But this lifesaving surgery is beyond what a small rescue can absorb alone. We are asking you to help give Frosty the simple, basic comfort every dog deserves — the ability to urinate normally and live without pain. Every donation brings him closer to surgery. Every share brings him closer to safety. Please help us give Frosty the future he has been waiting for.
He survived neglect. He survived emergency surgery. He survived a system that failed him. Now he just needs us.
3/15/26 Update
We’re excited to share our first post-surgery update on Frosty — and the news so far is very encouraging! Frosty is now almost two weeks post-op, and he is doing fantastic. One of the biggest concerns going into surgery was the possibility that he might continue to dribble urine afterward. We’re incredibly happy to report that 12 days after surgery, Frosty has not dribbled once. Considering that he previously struggled for 10–15 minutes just to empty his bladder, this early progress is a huge step forward.
Frosty has a recheck appointment later this week, and we’re hopeful his recovery will continue on this positive path. During surgery, the veterinary team performed a Contrast Cystourethrogram, Cystoscopy, and a Partial Penile Amputation to correct the severe narrowing at the tip of his urethra caused by scar tissue. Thankfully, doctors found no underlying anatomical deformities or additional urological issues. The problem was isolated to the stricture and scarring, which was successfully removed during the procedure.
Frosty still has healing ahead, but for the first time in a long time, we are hopeful that this sweet boy may finally be able to live comfortably, without pain, leakage, or the constant risk of emergency obstruction.
Your support is what made this surgery possible — and we still need your help to finish covering the cost of Frosty’s care. If you’re able to donate, every contribution makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing Frosty’s story helps us reach more people who can. Thank you for standing by Frosty and Coco & Tubbs French and English Bulldog Rescue. We’ll continue to share updates as he heals.
3/27/26 Update
We are overjoyed to share the update everyone has been hoping for — Frosty is 100% recovered! 🎉
Frosty had his final recheck exam on March 19, and we are thrilled to report zero complications from the procedures performed. He is now urinating completely normally, his bladder shrinks back to a normal size after he voids, and there is no urine dribbling at all. This is the outcome we dreamed of when we first fought for this surgery — and seeing it become reality is nothing short of amazing.
His final recheck appointment did take a little longer than expected… but only because Frosty insisted on making it a social event. He had to say hello to every staff member in the soft tissue surgery department, and his NC State fan club gathered to shower him with kisses, hugs, and well-deserved attention. 💕 It’s safe to say this sweet boy has captured many hearts along the way.
After everything he has endured — the neglect, the emergency procedures, the long recovery — Frosty is finally healthy, comfortable, and ready for the life he has always deserved. Frosty is officially ready to find his forever home!
While Frosty’s outcome is everything we hoped for, his specialized surgery and follow-up care came at a significant cost for this small rescue. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to help cover Frosty’s medical expenses. Every contribution — no matter the size — helps ensure Coco & Tubbs French and English Bulldog Rescue can continue saying “yes” to dogs like Frosty who need lifesaving care.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing Frosty’s story is another powerful way to help. Your support made this happy ending possible, and it will help save the next dog waiting for their chance. Thank you for standing with Frosty every step of the way
5/7/26 Update
Not long ago, Frosty struggled for 10–15 painful minutes just to empty his bladder. He leaked urine constantly and lived at risk of a life-threatening obstruction because of severe scar tissue and narrowing caused by his previous urethral prolapse. His future was uncertain, and without specialized surgery, his quality of life would have continued to decline. Today? Frosty is doing AMAZING.
He’s urinating completely normally, comfortable, playful, and finally able to just enjoy being a dog. And maybe the best part of all… his personality is coming out more and more every day. It’s become so obvious just how uncomfortable he must have been before surgery. Now that he’s finally pain-free, we’re seeing the real Frosty — a sweet, goofy, happy boy who loves attention and makes everyone around him smile.
This surgery didn’t just save Frosty physically. It gave him his life back.
We cannot thank everyone enough for the donations, shares, encouragement, and support that made this possible. Because of you, Frosty got the second chance he deserved.
Now we just need one final piece of his happy ending: a forever home.
